A lot of this going on in response to a simple observation that things this week haven’t gone exactly according to Elon’s plans, ie a SpaceX setback and Trump’s big beautiful bill reversing some what of Elon saw as DOGE’s progress. Appreciate his accomplishments, but don’t worship the man.

I will always rage against Elon. Tesla recruited me a bunch of times over the years and I’ve never had an itch to take it because of that shell of a man.

whenever the "women are just more emotional than men and shouldn't get to vote" guys come out and I think about how worked up guys can get about Elon Musk and other higher status dudes.

I’m definitely making a mountain out of a molehill with this, and I get your point is just that it’s just 2 large public things that didn’t go the way he wanted them to in one week, but 2 things on the spacex thing: A lot of people are going to bristle at it because people who are anti Elon for other things often just use the spacex test fails as a dunk Buy beyond that it’s not really even the same frame of judgment. People look at it from the outside as binary success/fail when the people doing these things look at it iteratively. I get the criticism of this that it makes it seem asymmetric where success is awesome but failure is no big deal, but that’s baked into it imo
