SCOOP: The democratic world's leading effort to commercialize thorium energy just took a big step forward.
Clean Core Thorium Energy, which last year got a license to export its thorium fuel bundles to India, has inked a deal with the Canadian National Labs to produce its first commercial products.
The Chicago-based startup is now in talks with utilities in Canada, Romania, South Korea, and India about testing its thorium fuel in existing pressurized heavy water reactors.
“This is the biggest advance toward commercializing thorium in recent history,” Milan Shah, Clean Core’s chief operating officer, told me.
