Every day my daughter does something else that really amazes me. At just nine weeks old, the strides she makes in her growth feel better than any accomplishment I have made in my own life. Her pediatrician literally teared up today because of how impressed she was with how well my little Eve is doing. I knew the pride a father could feel in his child was supposed to be intense emotion but I sort of thought it’d be a joy with diminishing returns, that you’d get used to it. Maybe I will. But right now it’s just incredible.

even more surreal to me is witnessing the power of women become mothers

What a beautiful post. Makes me wonder if part of the magic of parenting is realizing how much of life’s meaning can be found in the smallest, simplest triumphs. Cheering for Eve’s every milestone
