I'm so disgusted by the extent to which this kind of stuff is becoming routine as the tenor of antisemitism and judgment of Jews as the worst offenders of any given evil in the world grows louder on both the political left and right. Presumably someone who feels motivated to lie to gain entry to a synagogue and start shouting and scolding Jews in prayer for killing Christ and insufficiently engaging in universal principles of love rather is spurred at least in part by the anti-Zionist movement that's now gone mainstream. The logic is obviously absurd; when you harass Jews in the diaspora it makes the case for Zionism ever stronger. But I don't think this follows any logic other than the ancient assumed license to mete out justice for global or cosmic affairs as you see fit to the Jewish minority that lives around you. https://x.com/l3v1at4an/status/1944855102730461505

To this day have never met an in good standing Catholic who tends to go to church who has ever mentioned/considered/brought up the Jews killing Christ thing. It’s literally a meme and not a serious religious doctrine at all among Catholics

I would hope on the left at least, people are able to see the difference between the Jewish people as separate to the Israeli government's actions in the same way that people see Putin's invasion as not the fault of the Russian people.
