First post 1/4. My first $1 on-chain wasn’t DeFi. No airdrop. No “click here, receive yield.” I earned it the old-school way: mining Bitcoin at my dacha August 2018. Rural peace, a house I actually like… and mobile internet that works only when it’s in the mood 😅 It starts with a call from a friend: “Hey, you’ve got a dacha, right? Can I install my server there?” In my head: a neat little PC. Me: “Sure.” We arrive, he opens the trunk… and his “server” looks like a renovation project. He pulls out drywall, bricks, a huge metal box (basically a safe), two big boxes, and a bunch of smaller ones. I’m thinking: “Either we’re mining BTC or building a panic room” Then he goes: “Two ASICs. Bitmain Antminer S9j.” And immediately turns into a gold-rush prophet: “Bitcoin is digital gold. These ASICs are our shovels. We’re gonna be rich.” I’m already mentally shopping for a yacht. Read the continuation in the next post.

Post 2/4. Then -super casually: “By the way… ASICs can sometimes catch fire.” My yacht instantly turns into: “Wait, this is MY house.” He sees my face: “Relax. I planned everything” His fire-safety plan: build a little “house inside the house” out of drywall, and put the ASICs inside that giant metal box. If anything happens, it burns in the box. Peak dacha engineering🔥🧱 We install it in the basement because it’s cooler and those things scream. (Antminers aren’t loud… they’re honest.) But my basement had a boss fight: the height is ~40 cm. You can’t stand. You can’t squat. You can only… lie down. So yes: two grown adults spent days lying flat in a 40 cm basement, cutting drywall, drilling, wiring, and “catching internet” like shamans: “Oooh, two bars! Don’t breathe!
