One of my favourite discoveries while collecting on @kismet has been @tornado- ♥️.
The first thing that got me was the COLOUR!
I’m naturally drawn to artists who use colour boldly, so the Toxic Heritage series immediately caught my attention. The acidic greens, soft pinks, yellows and purples are almost aggressively bright, yet they coexist beautifully. The palette draws you into these strange worlds before you even begin to unpack what is happening inside them.
But what made me appreciate the works even more was discovering their relationship with art history.
Throughout Toxic Heritage, Tornado takes imagery from historical artworks and, in their words, merges and regurgitates it through their imagination.
