I admit I haven't looked to Passkeys in detail. They are by far better for the avg. user (hi mum) - Avoids phishing: can't sign with `bank .com` passkey for `fakebank .com` - Can't be reused across sites (1234Password) - As a physical device, much easier to make sense for old people etc. (+protected with PIN or biometrics) I see the HW wallets and physical passk. evolving into a single thing and can be the future. Similar to current HWW, ideally phy. passk. should have a screen and display meaningful info to the user, serving as the last checkpoint, if the browser gets compromised etc. (sounds familiar for crypto people) Check out this blog post from Trail of Bits for more: https://blog.trailofbits.com/2025/05/14/the-cryptography-behind-passkeys/?utm_source=social+media&utm_medium=blog&utm_campaign=cryptography

TIL: Blood pressure was discovered by Stephen Hales in 1727. He famously inserted a glass tube into the artery and measured the rise of the blood in the column.

Centralization is not the issue. As long as you get the data from somewhere and verify yourself it doesn't matter where it comes from. The problem is the ownership of the data and where the monopoly is at. Just try to do some data analysis on contracts. The dataset is non existent. It has to be fully public and available. What happens if etherscan goes away tomorrow? This isn't even an imaginary case this happened. Where are the kovan, rinkeby, gΓΆrli contracts?

I'm not sure if I get the point. If they are duplicates then the ipfs hashes of sources will also be duplicates. Still what's the main issue here?

The alternatives are Blockscout and Routescan. Yes the verification is free but of course, you are providing the valuable data. The problem is the dataset is not open and accessible
