Hackers used Decentraland account for phishing attack
Happycoin.club - Blockchain security firm PeckShield has warned the crypto community that the official account of the decentralized platform Decentraland on the social network X, which is banned in Russia, has been compromised.
PeckShield experts advised users to temporarily refrain from interacting with the official Decentraland account, namely, not to follow links posted there or view posts.
Hackers hacked the platform's account and began distributing a phishing link to the MANA token airprop through it. By clicking on the link, the user is taken to a website that offers to connect a wallet to receive tokens. Once this happens, the victim loses all of their crypto assets.
Reports of a fake MANA token giveaway from a Decentraland account began to arrive on the night of September 19. To disguise the scam, the attacker, on behalf of the platform, announced that comments had been disabled due to the distribution of malicious links.
