The One Big Beautiful Bill Act (OBBBA), passed in July, will lock in high deficits for the next decade. Unless interest rates fall, this will mean higher interest payments and further squeeze other uses of government revenue. As a result, the White House has repeatedly pressured the Fed to lower interest rates and called for the resignation of Fed Chairman Powell. These threats to the Fed's independence escalated further in August with the removal of Lisa Cook, one of the six current members of the Fed's seven-member Board of Governors. [11] While this may benefit elected officials in the short term, the weakening of the Fed's independence increases the risk of high inflation and monetary weakness in the long term.

At the same time, the term "appchain" has become a buzzword. Numerous DeFi products have launched their own public blockchains. In theory, appchains allow projects to simultaneously control both product logic and the underlying settlement layer, improving their ability to capture fees. However, the reality is a stark contrast: A few successful cases , such as Hyperliquid, have formed differentiated advantages in user experience and cost generation with their complete technology stack and extreme performance. Most projects, however, are stuck in a rut , lacking the ecosystem and network effects of high-performance L1s, nor the clear user market and real demand of mature dApps. As a result, the capital narrative often outweighs the actual value, making it difficult to go far.

I recently discovered @Novastro_xyz, an AI-powered RWAfi layer project, and found it quite impressive. Novastro enables tokenization, trading, and yield earning on real assets (RWA) – combining DeFi with real value. It operates on Ethereum but also extends to Sui, Arbitrum, and Solana, meaning high scalability and interoperability. AI is applied to optimize yield and risk management, making the DeFi experience more realistic and easier to use.
