thanks for looping me in! on Tako we don’t support direct 1:1 DMs yet. partly because of the polling/reactivity tradeoff you mentioned. building a smooth real-time UX on top of polling isn’t trivial, especially if decentralization is a design goal. we’re exploring two directions: - group-based anon chat first, kind of like public or semi-private “DC zones” inside communities. this fits better with our current product design + async social vibe. - longer-term, we’re interested in composable messaging that could plug into Farcaster infra but feel more like Telegram UX-wise.

Her project, @tako, is a Chinese-language client for Farcaster, and it's dope. Would love to see more experiments around clients like this.

mental health comes first. i’m more disciplined now than ever before - working out at least once a day and meditating whenever i get a chance. feel like i’m feeling a lot more energized bc of it it’s a close call between my cofounders v and sean - they can both plank for 10 minutes on base i’d say either jesse or nick prince or tom - they’re all pretty built!! had a lot of fun, thanks for having me on and listening to my soapbox!

for us it all starts with product. we’re constantly rolling out new features like staking for $b3 holders next week, making basement more fun with better games and smoother ux and then layering partnerships / markering on top. geo expansion is super important too. we’re rolling out a big asia gtm but we want to do it thoughtfully because it needs to be local content that really resonates with each local market / community

we realized that in gaming spend per user tends to be lower so focusing on a few big players isn’t enough. you need broad distribution. that’s why we designed b3 to let any chain or gamechain onboard users through $b3 while still sharing in the upside when those users spend elsewhere to solve the app chain fragmentation problem we built a 30% revenue share model that works like a networked affiliate system. if a chain brings in a player and that player spends on another chain the original chain still gets 30% of the revenue. this breaks the silos we see in traditional app chains where each tries to lock users in. instead it encourages chains to collaborate and grow the whole eco on igos i think we’re still early. i like a lot of the experiments like believe sahara and indie gg but for gaming no one’s cracked the formula yet. it has to start with good games that people want to play and invest in and i think we’re right at the edge of figuring it out. web2 monetization is really broken for mid si...
