This is Alma (cartoonist, 9) reminding us all that it is okay to have opinions and do things and feel things just because. No reason. The end.

Could I interact with ECP here via a mini app?

Ignorant answer in the hopes that someone who knows will correct me: values are implied from super low liquidity, very little money is flowing yet

For a studio that pays such close attention to technical constraints and the execution of details, using clip-art icons and sloppy drop shadows is a massive miss

In a parallel universe to crypto, mini apps and @dau, Tom Sachs just launched a collab with Nikecraft that involves daily active/creative challenges, logging, and earning access (to this shoe) Loving: summer camp, the concept of the studio, artists working across domains, this particular shoe Not so much: create a login, Tom’s great graphic style translated to UI in such a dull way

Did anyone play Moon Or Doom last year? (Yolo games on Blast) Or know who built it? Each minute there (was) a new betting pool on whether ETH will go up or down, at the end of minute the Moons or the Dooms win the other’s stake. Great UX and fun to attend to an unpredictable onchain data stream that balances macro sentiment against micro randomness. Seems abandoned now, but a good candidate for a mini app (vibe code goals)

for his larger scale projects he collaborates with assistants and masons. I’m glad we get to see the result, and some of it wouldn’t be possible if he set each stone, but it still feels a bit like cheating compared to how physically engaged his smaller work is. This has some great moments: https://youtu.be/AT7VBmd4J6w?si=9_5YhVssxx__tZeY

Almanac-inside-an-almanac: February's entry is Aldo and a friend cutting down a tree. As the two-man saw moves through deeper growth rings he lists important events in the local (Wisconsin) ecology that happened that year, periodically taking breaks for the sawyers to catch their breath. And of course he's right: the patterns in tree rings are an index of each year's weather. We even have an International Tree-Ring Data Bank that can accurately date wood samples by matching the exact ring sequences of a given species over a period of time. A perfect record, the ultimate almanac.

so good! I love that Andy Goldsworthy's work feels accessible to everyone, totally arresting like Turrell but grounded in nature in a way that makes it intimate, attentive, safe. The stone walls are my favorite:

Nice! I wonder if that would be possible onchain separate from the SDK, maybe seeing a transaction on etherscan from the cameras address to the creators address, with a hash of a jpeg? Something that verifies the timestamp linked to the image. The way the cameras from the 90’s work is, a tiny LED flashes through a date stencil to burn the timestamp directly onto the film at the exact moment the photo is taken, exposing it along with the image itself. I guess the other analogy is a ransom note with a picture of today’s newspaper to prove it was taken recently.

Yeah what is all the info that could be verified? tx details? Creator ENS as ‘to’, device id as ‘from’? Excuse me if this written up somewhere (is it?)
