Favorite memories of Farcaster were:
1) early frames - minting free NFTs from the team and watching an explosion of lightweight experiments in feed
2) subreddit vibes of optimistic crypto builders during the last bear. This was a schelling point for the best of crypto
3) bottoms up community vibes, made many internet friends who became IRL friends here
4) pre-VC funded vibes of the network
Products and networks are an expression of the founders’ values and beliefs. I still remember the care @dwr invested in each new member of the early network, and it made the network distinctive.
@stephancill’s early experiments with like to mint inspired the Degen Machine frame.
@df’s idea of fully onchain apps (smart contracts as backend and mods/frames) is still exciting
This iteration didn’t pan out as many wished but I don’t think there were a lot of good ideas here that will have a much biggest impact in a future turn.
