FDA fired a warning shot to WHOOP over the BP feature Osama calls out here https://www.cnbc.com/amp/2025/07/15/whoop-fda-blood-pressure-feature-wearables.html At this point I am so nihilist and tired, if people want to pay $350 and have freakouts and stress over bad data thatâs on them

With the number of disclaimers whoop has around the feature, and with the pain of setting it up, I don't think anyone reasonable thinks it's a substitute for a real cuff.

Iâll take that at least I think a big reason I donât like it is that I feel like there is a higher accuracy burden for reporting a metric like that bc it doesnât come accompanied with any other symptoms especially when high; silent killer. A BP of 180/120 is an emergency situation and you may not even feel it They try to say âoh itâs the same as HRV or respiratory rateâ but itâs not. They are true wellness metrics and correlated with how you feel, not silent. A lower fidelity for that number is fine bc trends matter more than absolute values.
