I think flow state is only achievable when there’s a certain level of competence in the activity. The activity must not be too easy to where it’s boring but not too difficult where you can’t see progress. As an artist that has had experience drawing and crafting since I was little, I find myself getting into flow states pretty quickly when doing artistic work. My competence levels have been developed throughout the years without even noticing lol

For a long time I limited myself to only working with charcoal because I didn’t fully understand color theory. I’ve been drawing, painting, and coloring since I was a little girl but this is my first colored pencil drawing. AirPods seemed like a good start. Guess I must’ve picked up color theory somewhere along the way lol
