According to Rob Hadick, a partner at Dragonfly, Solana and Ethereum will coexist and grow together in the race to tokenize assets, with no single blockchain completely "beating" the other. Ethereum currently houses many stablecoins and on-chain asset values, making it suitable for finance and tokenization. Solana, on the other hand, excels in transaction speed and volume, making it suitable for applications requiring rapid processing, such as trading. Because many assets will be tokenized in the future, no single blockchain will be able to handle them all. Each blockchain will serve different needs, and there will even be room for new blockchains.

At the end of 2025, more people are staking ETH rather than withdrawing it to sell. This is the first time in six months that this trend has reversed. Specifically, there are currently around 745,000 ETH waiting to be staked, while the ETH waiting to be withdrawn is only about 360,000 and continues to decrease. If this trend continues, the exit queue could reach near zero in the next few days. Previously, such staking reversals usually occurred before strong ETH price surges. Furthermore, large institutions are buying and staking large amounts of ETH, further reinforcing this trend.

A new proposal called "The Cat" is causing significant controversy within the Bitcoin community because it could permanently delete Bitcoin Ordinals and NFTs. This proposal seeks to freeze and delete millions of small UTXOs containing NFT data from the system, arguing that UTXOs are rapidly expanding and burdening the network. However, many Bitcoin Core developers strongly oppose this, claiming it constitutes asset seizure and goes against the principle of "Bitcoin is irretrievable." They also argue that this method doesn't truly block NFTs and undermines trust in Bitcoin. Some supporters believe that removing "junk" data is necessary to reduce the long-term burden on the Bitcoin network. However, even they acknowledge that accidentally deleting data at the consensus level would have serious and almost irreversible consequences.
