Seed phrases remain crypto’s biggest UX bottleneck—confusing, risky, and unfriendly. Alternatives include social recovery, hardware enclaves, or multi-party computation. The challenge is balancing security with convenience. If wallets evolve into smart contract-based accounts with seamless recovery, onboarding will improve drastically. Without change, mainstream adoption remains limited. The industry’s ability to move beyond seed phrases could decide whether crypto stays niche or becomes mass-market infrastructure.
