There are thousands of people sleeping rough and living in deep poverty in Mr Beast’s own city, Greenville, North Carolina.
Yet he flies to Africa to “save” a village. We all know why. It feeds that old Western savior fantasy. It’s a feel good hit of moral superiority, and it only really works when the camera is pointed at Africans or Asians in visible suffering.
This isn’t charity, it’s performance.
Africans need to stop applauding this nonsense. A little self respect wouldn’t hurt.
