Gorgon Gaze 👀♀️
(Want to bring the myth of Medusa to the 8 March celebration of #InternationalWomensDay2026 #IWD2026 without the Male Gaze, inspired by Brâncuși #MedusaGorgon #collectHERobjkts
Brâncuși sought to "carve away" the incidental to find the "resolved, inevitable" archetype. My process mirrors his discipline through Neural Pruning. The animation begins with the "noise" of the Medusa myth—the face, the head, the delicate cherry blossoms (symbols of transient beauty)—allowing for the systematic discarding of these details. For Brâncuși, the sphere was the end of the journey; For the Gorgon Gaze, the inner truth of women not being objects of possession nor monsters, and by ending in a simple, rotating volume, the artwork offers a "recursive mercy"—reducing the violence of the myth into the peace of the absolute.
