Shredded Wheat Bread! The fourth in a series of old-fashioned recipes I found in my Mum's recipe tin. 🥰 If you've ever had "brown bread" in the North American sense, this is that. Mother was bang on with using a cup of molasses, the flavour is incredible. It's sweet but still has the texture of homemade bread. It's tasty on its own with a bit of butter or it could be used in sandwiches that pair well with sweet, like ham or chicken salad with cranberry mayo. I'll be testing a ham sandwich this week. 😋 It baked 43 minutes at 350 degrees F. And it took about 2 hours for the second rise in the pans. It did take most of the day, as bread tends to do but you can do other things while it's raising. Like naps and such.
