Kierkegaard rightly said that he'd prescribe silence to people. Sometimes I wonder if the constant giving into the quick dopamine is just us escaping from having to sit with our thoughts. Probably is, that's why we have to carve out more time for it. On a sidenote, I found I became a much more generous person, much more likely to give others the benefit of a doubt as I cut down drastically on my exposure to the dopamine econom.
