The reason Farcaster, Bluesky, Threads, Substack Notes and Mastodon don't feel like Old Twitter is simple sociology: Community is path-dependent. It’s a specific web of 10,000 micro-transactions of reciprocity that happened over a decade.
You can move the people, but you can't move the history.
