The reason why all relationships fade is that one person doesn't speak and the other doesn't ask. One person asks awkwardly and the other person answers perfunctorily. If you don't speak, you think the other person will understand. If you don't ask, you think the other person has changed. In the end, you go from talking about everything to having nothing to say.
