Everyone’s calling OpenAI a ticking bomb. But this might just become the case study of how Sam Altman turned crisis after crisis into a comeback. Stronger each time, no matter the odds. https://x.com/ns123abc/status/1938027636137091306

Podcasters: if your audio’s clean, no one notices it. They just hear your words, and that’s the point.

4 years ago, we started building thirdweb. ◆ 20k monthly active developers building on 1k+ chains ◆ 1bn+ txns across 4m+ smart contracts ◆ 10m+ monthly connecting wallets 🎬 The story so far... In 2021, we launched thirdweb to make it easy to deploy smart contracts on any EVM. After spending thousands of hours working with devs and founders, we discovered that the whole stack was broken. The complexity of building onchain was stalling the growth of the industry. We set out on a mission to make it easy to build, scale and monetize anything onchain: 🎨 Connect: Onboarding, ID & payments. 📝 Contracts: Build & deploy smart contracts. ⚙️ Engine: Backend wallets to sponsor gas and read/write to chains. 📈 Insight: Index, transform and query onchain. 🤖 Nebula: Build AI powered apps. Piece by piece, we've built the complete platform, and every month tens of millions of users connect to apps and games built with our tools. https://thirdweb.com/

Interesting take; local first is a win-win for end users and Apple if they get as efficient over time.

Apple has advocated a "local-first" strategy for years. They said it's for privacy, their competitors said it's because Apple is not very good at cloud services. The recent announcement of access to AI's APIs, adds a new twist to "local-first": Developers can offer smart services, without paying the cost to host or rent LLM capacity. This can be a huge differentiator: You want your app to automatically generate transcripts of the videos it shows, index them, translate them, etc. Normally, you would have to do this server side, and pay the cost of using/hosting an LLM -a cost that does not scale. But if the AI functionality uses the user's device resources, it's free for the developer. And it's (practically) free for the user. What does this mean for Apple's competitors like Android? Will they have to accept that the same feature will cost more on them? Or maybe subsidize the cost and offer their LLM infra for free to devs?
