I recently switched to FreeBSD due to hardware issues. I was experiencing a persistent shutdown problem—whenever I tried to shut down my PC, it never turned off properly; the fans and lights stayed on every single time. I tried multiple Linux distributions, but the issue persisted. This meant that every time I needed to shut down my computer, the only option was a hard power cut, which is far from ideal and could potentially damage the motherboard.
