A mechanism-design-driven framework focuses on whether the protocol’s incentives are robust under adversarial conditions. It examines how rational actors might exploit oracle latency, liquidity fragmentation, MEV exposure, or governance capture. Rather than asking “is the code secure,” it asks “does the system remain solvent when participants behave strategically?” Stress tests simulate extreme but economically rational actions, including partial exploits and cascading liquidations. Projects are penalized if their safety depends on altruistic behavior or perfect coordination, regardless of audit quality.
