When people talk about civilian deaths in the Iran war, they often focus on the Minab strike β the U.S. Tomahawk that hit a naval site beside a school and killed 175 people, many of them children. [theguardian.com]
But itβs important to remember the scale of what Iran has done to its own civilians.
During the 2025β26 protests, Iranian security forces killed thousands to tens of thousands of unarmed citizens.
Credible investigations estimate 7,000β36,500+ deaths, with internal hospital data showing β30,000 killed in just 48 hours. [aljazeera.com], [independent.co.uk], [fox5ny.com]
Both tragedies deserve attention β but the numbers arenβt remotely close.
