Raises a huge question:
Two peers, on opposite sides of the world, to do a simple receive and acknowledgement of data, takes a minimum of the speed of light over half the earth's diameter each way, or approximately 133ms, with no other factors included. 200ms block times, therefore, means that you are precluding decentralization, as real world factors included brings block consensus windows up to around 6s to even satisfactorily reach moderately equipped and connected machines. So is base abandoning any interest in decentralization?
