shoudda looked it up first, sorry: turns out you’ll have to try really hard if you want one of these limited-edition gems lol opus 4.8: • it’s a limited-edition commemorative passport for the 250th (semiquincentennial), riding on top of the existing Next Generation passport. both versions carry identical security features and legal validity — the distinction is purely aesthetic.  • issued only at the Washington Passport Agency in D.C. starting July 6, 2026, while supplies last  — plus some special acceptance events. roughly 25,000-30,000 will be available.  • to get one you schedule an in-person appointment at the Washington Passport Agency or apply at a listed special event.  renew online or at any other location and you keep the existing design.  • so: only people renewing in person in D.C. during that window, while stock lasts, get the trump one. everyone else (you, renewing by mail/online from wherever) gets the standard Next Gen book.
