Base is a major Ethereum Layer-2 blockchain made by Coinbase that makes crypto transactions cheaper and faster while staying secured by Ethereum. It doesn’t currently have its own cryptocurrency, instead using ETH for fees. It’s growing fast as a platform for DeFi, NFTs, and other on-chain app
