Old School Respect or Out dated Thinking?β‰οΈπŸ€” Curious to hear some outside perspectives on this. πŸ‘€ My 16 year old daughter wants to go to prom with her boyfriend (he’s a senior). I’m perfectly fine with her going, but I suggested that he should pick her up… Partly because it feels respectful, and partly because I see it as a small window into his character. πŸ‘€ πŸͺ© To me, moments like this matter: πŸšͺ Does he show up to the door? πŸ™‚ Is he polite and confident when meeting her parents? 🀝 Does he offer a firm, respectful handshake? πŸ’ Does he make the effort to bring flowers? πŸ”₯ Does he carry himself like a young man who takes pride in how he treats her? Her mom thinks simply dropping her off is easier, but I can’t help feeling that this skips a very important social lesson about effort, courtesy, and respect. 🫑 Am I being old school here… or is there still value in expecting these gestures?⁉️ πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ
