At least in other disciplines when you drain half a day on a thorny problem you learn something
What is there even to be learned here? Like did you come away edified in any way? Do you have a better understanding of web development now? I never feel like I do? 😂 💀

The actual answer for this is something in the environment changed, could have been old code on the client or in the cache, could have been a silently failing deployment etc. There are lessons to be learned but it's a question of how much time to spend investigating but there is always something to be learned.
