I Took a Photo!

Here’s a quick story on this photo.

I unplug for a week, about once every 5-6 years.

February 2023 was my last unplug, where Mikayla and myself and 2 of our friends summited Kilimanjaro in Tanzania.

December 2017 was the unplug before that—ironically also in Tanzania. Mikayla and I had just wrapped up a work trip and decided a Christmas Safari would be cool.

Thanks to our local business partners, they set up a private expedition in the Serengeti. We saw all of the incredible sights you’d expect. But on Christmas Day, as our safari came to a close, we got this shot.

That tree had a temporary inhabitant. Patient. Patience. Silent. Silence. For 1 hour, we simply watched a lounging leopard. 

It was only slightly curious when a herd of Zebras plodded by, to which they were unaware of their observer above.
