Hi all — wanted to give an update on the /politics channel and network. Over the past two plus years I've been working to grow a politics community on Farcaster and I think we largely accomplished that. We tipped tens of thousands of dollars in $degen to political commentators, gave away $buster tokens, paid people to take real political action through @poidhbot, ran a book club, built the Politics Show, and created Policast so people could wager on political predictions onchain. All of this happened as Farcaster rugged channels and other clients like @cura came and went. We did a lot, but outside forces really limited the community's ability to grow the way many of us hoped. Over the past couple months my IRL work has become a much bigger commitment, and I was finally able to build mydemocracy.app — something I had been dreaming about before I ever showed up on Farcaster. Because of that, I'm stepping down as owner and lead of the /politics network. I've transferred the $politics token to Empire Builder and am handing the channel to @degencummunist.eth. I've worked closely with him over the past six months and feel good about leaving the community in his hands. I'll still be around. Just wanted to be fully transparent about my priorities and where the future of the politics network is going.
