I’ve been thinking a lot recently about the interaction between science fiction and startups. So when I saw Analog on sale at my local bookstore, I snagged it. I’m halfway through the first short story and I wonder why I ever stopped reading SciFi.
Recently, I have started to get calendar spam. This is totally new to me, but really annoying. If someone has my email address, they can invite me to things and I get alerts from my calendar about it; so now, calendar providers (Google, MSFT, Whoever) are going to need to build spam control into the calendar protocol.
Back in the day, I would add articles to instapaper, and then export a weekly roll up of those articles to my Kindle. I’ve long since quit that, but today I exported a briefing from ChatGPT and a Deep Research report to my Kindle. It is so much nicer to read on the Kindle than on my phone.
So I wonder if I’ll be able to automate much of this process so I can pick up my kindle first thing in the morning and get everything I need to start the day: context on my schedule, a summary of news and analysis, and anything I queue’d in Reader from the prior day.
