Typhoon Yagi has wreaked havoc across Southeast Asia since making landfall in early September 2024. It ranks as one of the most powerful storms to strike the South China Sea in recent decades, causing severe destruction in countries such as Vietnam, China, and others in the region. In Vietnam, over 50,000 people have been forced to evacuate, with the death toll rising above 179. Thousands of homes have been damaged or destroyed, and widespread flooding and landslides have exacerbated the crisis. The storm has impacted millions, including 5.5 million children​
