Citing data from the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council, Castro said a total of P39.37 million in assistance had already been provided by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD and local government units. “Assistance was extended to affected residents in Metro Manila, the Ilocos Region, Cagayan Valley, Central Luzon, the Cordillera Administrative Region, Calabarzon, Mimaropa, the Bicol Region, Western Visayas, and the Zamboanga Peninsula,” she said. The DSWD reported that it had provided 54,370 family food packs, along with 2,722 ready-to-eat food items, 23 other food items, and 1,376 non-food items.
