Vietnam welcomed a record number of foreign tourists in January 2026, with arrivals rising about 21 percent from the previous month and nearly 19 percent higher than January 2025. Strong visitor growth was seen from Northeast Asia, Southeast Asia, Europe, and long-haul markets, including South Korea, China, the Philippines, Singapore, Indonesia, India, and the United States. Officials attributed the increase to relaxed visa policies, expanded flight connections, and intensified tourism promotion, and they see it as a basis for continued growth throughout 2026.
