If you're looking for the right way to put a ship in a bottle, here's a tip: use a bottle with a detachable bottom. Or better yet, don't put a ship in a bottle at all. Put it on your mantel where people can see it. Then, when they ask about your ship, you can say, "Yes, that's my ship. It's not in a bottle, is it?"
