Watched the second season of The Rehearsal with Nathan Fielder. Really blew me away with the dynamic of Pilot/Copilot and the FAA's lack of care towards humanity. This idea that people in certain jobs can't seek help because they are worried about their medical clearances is inhumane. The congressman in that film, Steve Cohen, who just blew Nathan off - the head of the transportation board for 18 years, might as well be a brick wall for change. Disgusting interaction showcasing American politics falling flat on its face in real time. I don't give a shit what side you are on, it's individual interactions like this that showcase the struggles we are up against - that board is bipartisan, so all are to blame. It's pretty bad when our best, most innovative ideas are now coming from comedians who feel so inclined to bend their comedy shows towards affirmative action to get people to wake up to the fact there are little things we could be doing to make a difference. This wasn't a mind bending idea - restructure your training and pre-flight routine to help Pilots and Copilots develop a rapport so that when shit hits the fan, they communicate better and don’t worry about the repercussions. Nathan trained for 2 years to become a pilot to film this season. Maybe the people on the transportation board should do the same. Maybe then they would have a fucking clue about the industry they oversee. Maybe someone who owns a Hedge Fund and The New York Mets shouldn’t be overseeing the transportation board. He is worth 21.3 Billion. I don’t think he is flying economy with the rest of us…
