Olympics were terrible, but the Paralympics said hold my beer 🫥 They are now welcoming russian war criminals who were specifically participating in invading Ukraine, murdering civilians and committing the most heinous atrocities… because, in the words of the President of the International Paralympic Committee, “It doesn’t matter to us what they have done in the past in the combat field” and “what we offer with the movement is a second chance.” So let me get this straight. You commit war crimes, blow up children to pieces, rape women in occupied territories, and instead of being tried for war crimes you are told you deserve to travel the world, compete, and receive redemption from the world because hey, war crimes are just war crimes, and it’s normal now. And yes, there is a huge difference between arguing that some random professional athletes from countries that currently commit genocide and war crimes didn’t personally participate in any of that and therefore should be included, and arguing that actual soldiers who are war criminals and committed genocidal acts can now become athletes because they somehow deserve to live their best life after all those heinous atrocities.
