Aave and several ecosystem partners have proposed that Arbitrum DAO release frozen ETH linked to the recent rsETH exploit to help compensate affected users and restore reserve backing. If approved, the recovered funds would be directed to a coordinated initiative called DeFi United. The proposal comes after Arbitrum’s Security Council froze over 30,765 ETH (~$71M) tied to the exploit earlier this month. This could become one of the biggest examples of cross-protocol cooperation in DeFi history — with Aave, KelpDAO, LayerZero, Compound, and others working together to stabilize the ecosystem. Should DAO-governed treasuries be used to rescue users after exploits, or does that create dangerous precedent?
