Stop comparing the wrong numbers. @solana Alpenglow finality (~150ms) vs. @fogochain (~1.3s) is the wrong metric for traders.
There are two speeds:
Block Time (Execution Speed): How often you can enter a trade.
Finality (Settlement Speed): When the trade is irreversible.
HFT traders are obsessed with Block Time.
Block Time Comparison:
@fogochain : 40ms (25 chances/sec)
@solana : ~400ms (2.5 chances/sec)
@fogochain gives a 10x execution advantage. HFTs will always choose the 40ms chain.
@fogochain 1.3s finality is fine for settlement, but its 40ms block time unlocks on-chain HFT.
@solana is optimizing for settlement.
@fogochain is purpose-built for execution — the speed that actually wins trades.
