This is not Account Abstraction (AA). It's a native primitive built directly into the L1 protocol, making it faster, cheaper, and safer than Ethereum's smart-contract-based AA.
It's secure: your main key is safe, and the "session key" is sandboxed (time-limited, app-scoped, and domain-verified), which is safer than "unlimited" token approvals.
