How (I think) the @variational_io points system works Basically each pair every week has X amount of points allocated to it then you get a proportional share of the "total points pool" for that pair based on your share of that respective pair's total OI, time-weighted over the course of the whole week Ex. Obscure/small Trading Pair / token X has an avg of $1k OI on it over the course of the past week and 50 pts are allocated for this pair You have an average of $500 on this pair throughput nearly the entire week, thus you would get ~25 points This is why you are seeing some people claim that "some pairs are better than others" or "I've found the secret sauce to the best / better pairs, use my ref code and I'll DM you the strategy lol" imo this is mostly bait / cap / BS (but there is some truth to it) The Vari points game is largely still unsolved (and also doesn't have API access so it can't get farmed to death by retail automation trading tools) Which is why it's still a game worth playing
