Motaz, 11 months, is Rowa’s only child.
In early November, Rowa learned that he was suffering from malnutrition. Since then, Motaz has been receiving support at a UNICEF-supported nutrition treatment point in Gaza City.
Even amid the current ceasefire, mothers and children continue to struggle to access nutritious food. Prices remain very high, and many families have no financial means to buy even basic items.
“He had the flu last week – all the children around here are sick. Even now, despite the ceasefire, daily life is still incredibly difficult,” says Rowa.
UNICEF remains committed to reaching these families with life-saving nutrition support and protecting the health of children and their mothers.
