Gold hit a record high amid investigation into Fed Chair and unrest in Iran
🔹Gold soared above $4,600 per ounce for the first time on Monday, while silver reached a record $84.60 per ounce, as investors fled to safe-haven assets amid a criminal investigation into Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell and violent protests in Iran.
🔹Powell stated that the Justice Department had threatened him with charges related to his congressional testimony, calling it a “pretext” by the Trump administration to pressure the Fed into lowering interest rates.
🔹Goldman Sachs has shifted its forecast for Fed rate cuts to June and September 2026, while analysts predict that silver could reach $90 per ounce amid continued political uncertainty.
