the Baby Ruth candy bar was introduced in 1921, at the height of babe ruth’s popularity. The Curtiss Candy Company claimed that it was named after Ruth Cleveland, the late daughter of former president Grover Cleveland. Ruth Cleveland died of diphtheria in 1904 at the age of 12
