Hello /octant channel! I am self-nominating for the #farcasterrpgfspring2025 round for my work in channel and community building on Farcaster.

My largest channel is /itookaphoto. Sister Itooka channels: /itookaselfie /aitookaphoto and /itookavideo. I also run /moviesuggestions and /tvsuggestions 

Casts in my channels don't focus on tokens or even crypto, just great art or suggestions on the timeline!

One way I build community and support quality content on Farcaster is by sponsoring Rounds, @cura leaderboards & other contests with Degen & other coins. Thanks to @octant and @tayyab for hosting a huge retrogrant round for Farcaster. Looks like lots of deserving folks are going to get rewarded!

Unfortunately, it looks like my entry below was disqualified. I am looking for feedback on why. 

With ITAP and other channels, I've tried to create spaces for anyone to contribute quality content to Farcaster - amateurs and professionals. Especially non-token related content.

Ahh, heard back from @tayyab. Channels aren't eligible (mostly).

From their documentation: "Channels: Generally out of scope unless demonstrably exceptional for the Farcaster community."

I will endeavor to make ITAP (the number 1 channel!) and my other channels demonstrably exceptional!

In the meantime, who wants to lobby @sahil and the @cura team to coordinate and help sponsor a retrogrant round for channel mods and owners! :-)

If you were DQ'd it was most likely if it was known shown direct impact to Farcaster, ask for future work, or were primarily built around channels. We explicitly were not supporting channels under the retroPGF umbrella.

@octant disqualifying inceptionally is shambolic. Hundreds of daily users for over a year have engaged in ITAP. I also have criticism of how the round voting was set up in general. Way too cliquey…a huge problem with most things here. No offense to Tim Daub but I’ve never even heard of wiki news and he takes 10 percent of the entire rewards? Fwiw I saw many solid builders here get peanuts in comparison.
