i made this whole wheat bread and it turned out sooooo good 🍞 Many people say whole wheat bread always turns out hard, but that's not true. If you use the right ingredients and follow the right method, it can be incredibly soft.
Ingredients:
1½ cups + 1 tablespoon whole wheat flour
½ cup + 2 tablespoons lukewarm water
1 teaspoon yeast
3 tablespoons milk powder
3 tablespoons thick yogurt
2 tablespoons butter
1/2 teaspoons salt
1 tablespoon sugar
Method:
In the lukewarm water, add the yeast and sugar. Mix well and let it sit for 5 minutes until the yeast becomes active.
In a separate bowl, sift together the whole wheat flour, milk powder and salt.
Add the thick yogurt, the yeast mixture, and the butter.
Mix everything with a spatula. Don't worry if the dough feels sticky or a little loose at first that's completely normal. Once you start kneading, it will come together beautifully.
Knead the dough by hand for about 15 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.
