That's an impressive accident. Was involved with a community for a while before, during and after the 2021 bull run. The ideas around intrinsic motivation were analysed and explored. It was very exciting to be a part of it. Alas, the whole thing imploded. Hard to say when, where and why exactly. As you write so eloquently, some things can't be quantified, including messy humaneness. And yet I still hold on to some kind of hope that the lessons will float out of that experience into something else. Actually reading your article gave me hope in that someone else out there is still thinking about these possibilities.

Thanks for reading and sharing your experience. And yes, I do think that's in part the fascinating part too when communities work out - it's often against the odds. I've realized that I could either become like that and take it all in unquestioning, but that's not my character so here we are trying to bring a bit more humanism and qualitative insights into this industry. Idk if it'll make big impact, but I know at least that I connected with many like-minded and that alone is a good start :))

Was at a Gnosis meet up here in Berlin in the early Spring. Devs, finance people and people who, when asked during a round of questions about tools were flat out stating they wanted I way to achieve fully automated and yet transparent communism. Was floored and delighted of course. I was probably the only artist, and mostly felt like an observer. It's interesting that all these people can get together in one room and eat pizza. Makes me think that the bitcoin pizza day is some kind of highly charged symbolic cornerstone. All the varieties delivered and each pie distributed more or less equally to everyone. Funny how we can do this with food but were somewhat stuck in a holding pattern when it comes to doing this with money. Wish you all the best on your forward journey. Oh nice, I was at a Gnosis meetup earlier this year too haha - still the more decent fun crowd tbh. Btw, I do think so far crypto has done a horrible job for creatives and artists, and it shows. I would love if we could work on that, because the aesthetics are quite dire haha. I want to look at beautiful stuff sometimes, not at ugly pfps that trade for millions of cheap thirst traps that now come with a token -.-
